The four traditional advent themes for the four advent Sundays are: God’s people -The Candle of Hope. Hope is like a light shining in a dark place. The old testament prophets – The Candle of Peace. John the Baptist – The Candle of Love. Mary the mother of Jesus – The Candle of Joy .
God ordered Muslims to pray at five set times of day: Salat al-fajr : dawn, before sunrise. Salat al-zuhr: midday, after the sun passes its highest. Salat al-‘asr: the late part of the afternoon.

The Lord never lets us down. The celebration of Advent is possible only to those who are troubled in soul, who know themselves to be poor and imperfect, and who look forward to something greater to come. It is the beautiful task of Advent to awaken in all of us memories of goodness and thus to open doors of hope.
