The most common prayer among Christians is the ” Lord’s Prayer “, which according to the gospel accounts (e.g. Matthew 6:9-13) is how Jesus taught his disciples to pray.
United prayer and fasting has always been used by God to deal a decisive blow to the enemy! Often in the Bible, God’s people fasted immediately before a major victory, miracle, or answer to prayer . It prepared them for a blessing! Moses fasted before he received the Ten Commandments.
Jesus taught, “When you pray , do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men … but when you pray , go into your room, close the door and pray to your father who is unseen.”
Take time to remember how much God loves you and those you are praying for. Remember all the ways God has been faithful in the past. Pray the Word. Be comfortable not knowing what to pray. Invite others to pray with you. Find peace in surrendering to God’s will. Worship God .
Think, O’ God , of our friend who is ill, whom we now commend to Your compassionate regard. that no healing is too hard if it be Your will. We therefore pray that You bless our friend with Your loving care, renew his/her strength, and heal what ails him/her in Your loving name.
Miracles do happen everyday, all day long. Because around us, life bursts with mysteries – a glass of water, a ray of sunshine, a leaf, a caterpillar, a flower, laughter, raindrops. If you live in awareness, it is easy to see miracles everywhere. The universe is big, it is vast, complicated, and yet simple.
Let’s turn to the Scriptures and see 4 ways to Pursue after the Presence of God . Set your PRIORITIES in Order. Seek His Presence through PRAYER. Seek His Presence with HUMILITY. Seek His Presence through SURRENDER.
