In the Gospel of Luke 11:1-4, Jesus teaches the Lord’s Prayer to his disciples when one of them asks, ” Lord , teach us to pray .” Almost all Christians have come to know and even memorize this prayer .
Jesus taught , “When you pray , do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men … but when you pray , go into your room, close the door and pray to your father who is unseen.”
When you pray , say (Luke 11:2 NRSV) Two versions of this prayer are recorded in the gospels: a longer form within the Sermon on the Mount in the Gospel of Matthew, and a shorter form in the Gospel of Luke when “one of his disciples said to him, ‘ Lord , teach us to pray , as John taught his disciples.
The Lord’s Prayer is a pattern that Jesus taught his followers to pray . The significance of this prayer is in what the words point us to and remind us of. Through this pattern, Jesus teaches us a balanced prayer life. The Lord’s Prayer is a reminder of who God is and how we should engage with Him.

When Jesus first teaches the prayer he says when you pray say ” Our Father “. All prayer has to acknowledge our need of forgiveness and our need to forgive. So it’s not so much that there would be other ways of saying it, we say those words simply because Jesus told us to.
If you are speaking to God, it is impossible to do it wrong . There is no wrong way to pray . People need verification that what they are doing is OK.

“Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up.” As you can see, the Bible does command us to pray and tells us what it does . Therefore, always take advantage of this beautiful gift called prayer .
