However, this use means that the author is offering his own spiritual meditation on the sacred text! Lectio Divina , it must be stressed, is not a spiritual intellectual endeavour that aims to understand the text!

You can either pray your prayers in your mind or speak them out loud. God is able to hear your prayers either way!
The Scripture says , “Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 2:5). The mind of Christ can, through the Holy Spirit, control your mind , your thoughts , your intents and your actions, if you submit to Him daily.

Traditionally, Lectio Divina has four separate steps : read; meditate; pray; contemplate. First a passage of scripture is read, then its meaning is reflected upon. This is followed by prayer and contemplation on the Word of God.

The necessity of prayer for the realization of salvation is brought to light in the acts and teachings of Jesus. Thus, He exhorted His disciples to pray always and not loose heart.
