Regular persistent prayer draws us closer to Him. It may seem that we are a squeaky wheel if we keep going to Him, but the Lord welcomes our prayers and encourages us to approach Him with our cries. He hears us and will come to our aid in ways we may not expect.
“Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.”
We must never give up in prayer , we must persist And there is nothing wrong if you pray repeatedly asking for the same thing . As long as what you are praying for is within the will of God. It is totally acceptable to keep asking until either God grants your request or removes the desire from your heart.
The truth is that God is not obligated to answer any man’s prayer . Instead, we should consider what God said he would do to those who reject him: He “gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; being filled with all unrighteousness …
1 : the act or fact of stubbornly continuing to do something. 2 : the act or fact of continuing to exist longer than usual. More from Merriam-Webster on persistence .
Persistence is a very important trait to develop in life because it is intimately interlinked with ones own personal development and self-improvement. You will only get better in life by failing at things, learning from those experiences and moving on.
10 BENEFITS OF TRUSTING GOD 2 – We stop asking God for help . It is a big problem. 3 – We stop trusting God in difficult times. We forget how good God is. 4 – We become pessimistic about the future. It means we loose hope. LIFE OF SUSTENANCE. LIFE OF BALANCE. LIFE OF RESILIENCE. LIFE OF GUIDANCE. LIFE OF CONFIDENCE.
Galatians 6:9, NIV: “Let us not become weary in doing good , for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Galatians 6:9, ESV: “And let us not grow weary of doing good , for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.”
In the King James Version of the Bible the text reads: But when ye pray , use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do : for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. In praying , don’t use vain repetitions, as the Gentiles do ; for they think that they will be heard for their much speaking.
In short, signs are often a confirmation that a person needs to believe. If we ask for a sign , it’s because we have a doubt. But God wants His children to walk by faith (Hebrews 1:38).
You should pray for a person once for any given circumstance, not the same circumstance over and over. If you stop praying for them because of un-forgiveness, thats another matter. There are basically six types of prayer and this question falls into one or possibly two of categories, faith and intercession.
Some people ask why God doesn’t answer , or doesn’t always answer , their prayers . But the fact is, God does answer prayer . In fact, God answers every prayer . If you think about it, though, you can understand why he doesn’t answer every prayer with a “Yes,” immediately.
– As long as your prayers are for selfish motives, driven by pride hidden in your heart, God will not answer them. – If you knowingly condone sin, whether it’s happening to you or to someone else, and you don’t correct them, you ‘regard iniquity in your heart’ and thus should forget about God answering your prayers .
Takeaway. God always answers prayers even when the answer is no . Sometimes we don’t get what we want because God wants us to be independent. Instead of using God as a crutch he wants to know if we still have faith even when he doesn’t give us what we ask of Him.
