Giving shows he is Lord of our lives. So, when we give , we simply offer him a small portion of the abundance he has already given to us. Giving is an expression of our thankfulness and praise to God. It comes from a heart of worship that recognizes everything we have and give already belongs to the Lord.
It’s important to see that the giving of tithes and offerings as primarily that – an act of worship before God. We worship through song, through prayer, through the study of and obedience of scripture. But we should also give as an act of worship before God.

When God says, bring all the tithes into the storehouse , it should be understood that He is talking crops, herds and flocks. If the priests brought the whole tithe into the storehouse as God requested, there would have been enough food in his house. The food was for the Levites who were on temple duty.
