Forms of prayer . The tradition of the Catholic Church highlights four basic elements of Christian prayer : (1) Prayer of Adoration/Blessing, (2) Prayer of Contrition/Repentance, (3) Prayer of Thanksgiving/Gratitude, and ( 4 ) Prayer of Supplication/Petition/Intercession.
Adoration is respect, reverence, strong admiration or devotion in a certain person, place, or thing. The term comes from the Latin adōrātiō, meaning “to give homage or worship to someone or something”.
After opening the prayer we tell our Father in Heaven what we are thankful for. You can start by saying , ” I thank thee” or ” I am grateful for.” We show our gratitude to our Father by telling him in our prayer what we are thankful for; such as our home, family, health, the earth and other blessings.
Adoration is a sign of devotion to and worship of Jesus Christ, who is believed by Catholics to be present Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity, under the appearance of the consecrated host, that is, sacramental bread.
For instance, if the person is praying to Jesus, he or she may call him the Divine Redeemer, the Adorable Sacrament, the Light of the World or any other complimentary name. The person praying may thank or adore him for his mercy, his heavenly favors or even for the great doughnut they had for breakfast.
The necessity of prayer for the realization of salvation is brought to light in the acts and teachings of Jesus. Thus, He exhorted His disciples to pray always and not loose heart. If Holy Mass is the highest form of Christian prayer , it must be of absolute necessity for any Christian that worth the name.
Adoration is generally considered the most noble form of prayer, a kind of prostration of the whole being before God .

Prayer is important to Protestants because: It encourages Christians to acknowledge the goodness of God and how great He is ( prayers of adoration ). It encourages Christians to confess and ask for forgiveness. It helps Christians to remain humble as they thank God for all the things He has given them.
As nouns the difference between praise and adoration is that praise is commendation; favourable representation in words while adoration is (countable) an act of religious worship.

Awaken me in body and spirit each day with a desire to meet with You and to hear You speak words of affirmation, assurance, and wisdom over my heart as I prepare to go into my day.
