Hope , Suffering, and Joy Our hope and rejoicing are connected with faith and grace, as well as the glory of God. Though we don’t yet see the end result of our salvation, we hope for it and we have joy in that expectation. When suffering brings us closer to God and forms His character in us, we can find joy in it.
Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer. NKJV. Rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer.
“Be joyful in hope .” This means that, no matter what is going on around us, and no matter where we are at the time, we are constantly looking ahead. The Living Bible translation says: “Be glad for all God is planning for you.” As followers of Christ, we are never without hope .
“Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up.” As you can see, the Bible does command us to pray and tells us what it does. Therefore, always take advantage of this beautiful gift called prayer .
THAT’s vain repetition . That’s saying one prayer over and over and over and over and over VAINLY. For example, turn to Daniel 9, and notice this great prayer of repentance, how the same thing is repeated over and over again, and the Lord’s name is repeated over again.
: to give joy to : gladden.
