A salvation prayer , known by many Christians as a “Sinners Prayer ,” is a prayer one would say to repent from sin, ask God for forgiveness, confess belief in Jesus Christ, and accept him as Lord and Savior. Saying a salvation prayer is the first step in your relationship with God.
Through prayer, invite Jesus into your heart to become your personal Lord and Savior . “For with the heart (core being) man believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” ( Romans 10:10) “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” ( Romans 10:13)
+ Romans 10:9-10 “That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.”
Remember to explain to your children that these are not “magic” words that will save them, but that they should mean what they say with their hearts. Lord Jesus I know I am a sinner . I believe you died for me on the cross so that I might be saved. Right now I ask You to forgive me of all my sins.
Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior.
Jesus taught, “When you pray , do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men … but when you pray , go into your room, close the door and pray to your father who is unseen.”
In the Christian Scriptures, there are three verses that take up the subject of unforgivable sin . In the Book of Matthew (12: 31-32), we read, “Therefore I say to you, any sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven men, but blasphemy against the Spirit shall not be forgiven .
1 His Name “ Jesus ” Means Saviour The name Jesus comes from the Hebrew Jehoshua, meaning “Jehovah saves”. Jesus was truly our Saviour as he hung on the cross, for his death is our one and only means of salvation from sin and wrath. But God’s kindness (or grace) accepts the punishment of Christ instead of our own.
To truly put God first you have to let go of what others think and follow your heart. This means letting go of what your parents, spouse, kids, boss, and friends think. When you put God first , you give yourself a voice. You express yourself in a way that is true to you.
Salvation is made possible by the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus, which in the context of salvation is referred to as the “atonement”. Christian soteriology ranges from exclusive salvation to universal reconciliation concepts.
Born again , or to experience the new birth, is a phrase, particularly in evangelicalism, that refers to “spiritual rebirth”, or a regeneration of the human spirit from the Holy Spirit, contrasted with physical birth.
The doctrine of “ once saved , always saved ” teaches that it is not possible for a child of God to sin in such a way that he will be lost. This doctrine, however, is not taught in the Bible . It is an erroneous doctrine that provides a false comfort and a deceitful feeling of security.
