Thomas More Society celebrates the life of its namesake, Sir Thomas More, the patron saint of attorneys, statesmen and politicians. Sir Thomas was an English lawyer who served as chancellor of England from 1529 to 1533.

He was also found guilty of treason by King Henry , leading to an execution sentence carried out in the form of a beheading. Sir Thomas More was born in London on February 7, 1478. He went on to study at Oxford and had received enough education to become a lawyer. Instead, in 1517 he entered the king’s service.
There was no trial, and Cromwell was executed on July 28, 1540, on Tower Hill. It was only a matter of months before Henry VIII began to regret Cromwell’s execution .
More was an intellect who remained a steadfast Catholic. He believed that areas of the Catholic Church did deserve to be reformed and modernised. But More believed that any change to the Church had to come from the Catholic Church itself.
Tradition says the statue should be buried upside down and facing toward the direction of the desired moved. Joseph statue upside down is symbolic for the St . Joseph needing to work extra hard to get back to right side up and into a place of honor, thus helping to bring forth a buyer to purchase the home.
