What does it mean for God to enlarge your territory ? Enlarge means to increase , expand or add on. So when God adds to your territory it is going to be something new – unfamiliar land. It will be something you. haven’t seen before.
Jabez had a name that meant pain, yet he became “more honourable than all his brothers.” He did not simply seek to change his name , as it were, instead, he took his supplication and cry to “The God of Israel” – the one who controls the destinies of people; one who can change the spell-casting power that may be inherent
Jabez prayed that in receiving God’s blessings that he would not fall into the temptation that happens to many successful people, and that also evil people may not try to harm him. This also relates to the phrase in the Lord’s Prayer : “Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.” It is a similar request.

But Jabez was sick and tired of pain, so he asked God to keep him from evil and harm. He asked that God would make him secure. If he did not experience harm or pain, he would not cause pain to others. Jabez was a more honourable man that all his brothers.
