The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much .” James 5:16, NASB: “Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. A prayer of a righteous person , when it is brought about, can accomplish much .”
That is prayer that works. That is prayer that has force. That is prayer that is powerful. The word ” availeth ” is the Greek word “ischuo” from the root word “ischus.” God’s Word is its own context for study.
If he has sinned, he will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years.
Righteous God, I seek You with all my heart; do not let me stray from Your commandments neither through ignorance nor by willful disobedience. I have treasured and stored Your Word in my heart so that I will not sin against You. I declare that I will remain on Your path of righteousness , Amen.
Righteousness is one of the chief attributes of God as portrayed in the Hebrew Bible . Its chief meaning concerns ethical conduct (for example, Leviticus 19:36; Deuteronomy 25:1; Psalm 1:6; Proverbs 8:20). In the Book of Job the title character is introduced to us as a person who is perfect in righteousness .

The Bible asserts, “The LORD is good to all; he has compassion on all he has made. “ (Psalm 145:9) He crowns the year with His goodness, even the hard pathways overflow with His blessings, according to Psalm 65:11. So primarily, God blesses sinners because it is in His nature to do good to all as well as: 1.
The primary difference between the righteous man’s reward and the prophet’s reward is that the righteous man receives a reward according to the established word of God while the prophet receives a reward according to the present word of God. As with the reward for righteousness , this reward requires effort to receive.
A human person is not righteous in God’s eyes because of his choice or commitment, his good works or his piety, his emotions or intellect. “Through faith in Christ, therefore, Christ’s righteousness becomes our righteousness and all that he has becomes ours; rather, he himself becomes ours.”
James 5:14, NIV: “Is anyone among you sick ? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord.” You should call for the elders of the church to come and pray over you , anointing you with oil in the name of the Lord.”
Prayer in the Hebrew Bible is an evolving means of interacting with God, most frequently through a spontaneous, individual, unorganized form of petitioning and/or thanking. In these instances, such as with Isaac, Moses, Samuel, and Job, the act of praying is a method of changing a situation for the better.
