Third Step Prayer God , I offer myself to Thee — to build with me and to do with me as Thou wilt. Relieve me of the bondage of self, that I may better do Thy will. Take away my difficulties, that victory over them may bear witness to those I would help of Thy Power, Thy Love, and Thy Way of life.
It says in the big book of Alcoholics Anonymous , page 84 “And we have ceased fighting anything or anyone – even alcohol,” We have to be reminded that we have offered our self to God, and he is now in the driver’s seat.
LORD, make me a channel of thy peace, that where there is hatred, I may bring love; that where there is wrong, I may bring the spirit of forgiveness; that where there is discoid, I may bring harmony; that where there is error, I may bring truth; that where there is doubt, I may bring faith; that where there is despair,
God save me from being angry. Thy will be done”. Pg. 68 FEAR – We ask Him to remove our fear and direct our attention to what He would have us be.
Step three is defined as “(to make) a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood Him.”

Step Three Promises Being all powerful, He provided what we needed, if we kept close to Him and performed His work well. Established on such a footing, we became less and less interested in ourselves, our little plans and designs. More and more we became interested in seeing what we could contribute to life.
The Ninth Step Promises We are going to know a new freedom and a new happiness. We will not regret the past nor wish to shut the door on it. We will comprehend the word serenity and we will know peace. No matter how far down the scale we have gone, we will see how our experience can benefit others.

The Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous tells us that we are driven by a hundred forms of fear . That it is “An evil corroding thread.” Again, not necessarily phobias, but the fear that is driven by our instinctual needs. When we act out of fear , it is commonly due to one of our three basic needs being threatened.
God, today help me set aside everything I think I know about You, everything I think I know about myself, everything I think I know about others, and everything I think I know about my own recovery so I may have an open mind and a new experience with all these things. Please help me see the truth.
A 4th Step Resentment Prayer : “God, Please help me to be free of anger and to see that the world and its people have dominated me. Show me that the wrong-doing of others, fancied or real, has the power to actually kill me.
