The biblical text which speaks of Jesus promising his presence with two or three gathered together is Matthew 18:20. “For where two or three are gathered together in my name , I am there among them” (NRSV).
As God says , “ Pray for each other so that you may be healed” (James 5:16 NIV).
Jesus is explaining that if you have an issue with someone in the church… Talk to him (or her) privately about it. If he refuses to repent, grab two or three friends—people you trust—who will back you up when you talk to him a second time.
For where two or three are gathered together unto my name, there am I in the midst of them. For where two or three are assembled in my name, there am I in the midst of them. For where there are two or three assembled in my name, there am I in the midst of them.”
It was John 16:23, where Jesus tells the apostles “Amen Amen I say to you , whatever you ask from the Father, He will give it to you in My name ”.
Hebrews 10:25 Bible Verse Sign | Let us not give up Meeting Together , as Some are in The Habit of Doing, but let us Encourage one Another and All The More as You See The Day Approaching.
Praying together reminds you that God is the sole source of life, truth, love, and hope: When you pray together , you are focusing your minds, hearts, and marriage on God. You are making your marriage God-centered. You are sharing with Him your deepest needs and desires, hopes and dreams… together .
When you pray together with other Christians, you fight against disunity in the church and promote unity among followers of Jesus Christ. When you pray together with other Christians, you encourage a weaker sister by your approach to God on her behalf.
The Bible says the Holy Spirit is present whenever believers gather together (Matthew 18:20). A great example of this was the early church of Acts, which made a habit of meeting together , eating together , and worshiping together .
Chapter 18 of the Gospel of Matthew contains the fourth of the five Discourses of Matthew , also called the Discourse on the Church. The discourse emphasizes the importance of humility and self-sacrifice as the high virtues within the anticipated community.
It’s a common Bible verse that you’ve probably heard or even said many times — “When two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.” We find it in Matthew 18 :20, and we (including me) often use this verse when we want to agree with someone in prayer.
It was Jesus’ custom—his regular practice—to go to church . The Message Bible puts it like this, “As he always did on the Sabbath, he went to the meeting place.” If Jesus made it a priority to meet together with other believers, shouldn’t we, as his followers, do so also?
“Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.”
The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God . And the peace of God , which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
